        Mission

 

        Gestalt Therapy Brisbane promotes the application of Gestalt theory

        and development and trains competent Gestalt therapists and practitioners.

 

In fulfilling this mission the Institute provides a training programme of excellence which emphasizes the experiential nature of learning. It offers and integration of theory and practice, personal growth, supervision and professional development. 

  

The programme offers an integrative approach to the study of individual, family group and organization methods of interventions.

  

The programme promotes an appreciation and support of professional practice that is responsive, creative, ethical and innovative.

  

Gestalt Therapy Brisbane provides opportunities for people in the community to participate in the Gestalt experience.

 

Gestalt Therapy Brisbane networks with other Gestalt/Psychotherapy and professional and regulatory bodies nationally and internationally.

 

Gestalt Therapy Brisbane operates in a way that respects diversity, individual freedom and responsibility, the use of collaborative process, and the method of dialogue.

 

Gestalt Therapy Brisbane’s work of education into the practice and theory of Gestalt is met by its directors and a flexible team of trainers. It is supported by its visiting trainers from national and international sources.

 

 

The work at the Institute is guided by the central belief in the wholeness of human experience and the responsibility of all participants, leaders and trainees, for their own personal growth and ongoing professional development.

The Gestalt Therapy Four Year Training Programme aims at providing the student with the most fundamental knowledge and understanding of the theoretical base of gestalt therapy. This knowledge will support the development of personal awareness and group awareness throughout the whole four years of study.

Secondly the programme aims to develop an integrative approach to the study of individual, family and group methods of therapeutic interventions.

Thirdly the program aims at promoting and strengthening the students skills, personal qualities and competencies that are relevant to becoming a gestalt therapist.

Finally the programme aims at promoting an appreciation and support of professional practice that is responsive, creative, ethical and innovative.
